Phi Sigma Sigma is a proud, strong member of the Greek community due to our Founders who were leaders of their time that developed a mission to perpetuate the advancement of womanhood.
Our Founders believed that women of different backgrounds could come together and work towards common goals. They established the ideals that endure today and are upheld by Phi Sigma Sigma collegians and alumnae, bound by the strength of sisterhood. Our Founders charted the course and reached milestones that have enabled Phi Sigma Sigma to prosper. Membership in Phi Sigma Sigma remains a lifelong, meaningful experience for women with similar values.
Once a Phi Sigma Sigma, always a Phi Sigma Sigma.
TYPES OF SORORITIES
There are huge benefits to being a member of an international organization like Phi Sigma Sigma. The inspiring women at our international headquarters are amazing resources, and they're always there to help us and answer our questions whenever we need them. We also get to attend fully-paid leadership conferences all around the United States!
Most of all, we get to be a part of something bigger than ourselves - an amazing 100 year legacy and a sisterhood of over 160,000 members worldwide.
There Are Three Types of Sororities at Carleton:
International means the sorority has chapters in different countries, and that it’s governed by a central Headquarters. International sororities are often very old, because it takes time to establish hundreds of chapters.
National means that the sorority has one or more other chapters in Canada.
Local means that the sorority is only established at one university or college campus, and it has no governing body.
